FWMR - October Newsletter

If you haven't ridden with us, or it's been awhile come on out and join in. We try to have a ride every other week, if not more often. Check the ride section on the forums for new rides.

Don't forget our Bike Nights at the Fox and Hound, now every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.

  Month in Review

Wow, September has been a wild ride. Didn't have to many club rides but several went to the MotoGP races in Indy, a TV crew filmed a bike night for a future TV show and some members road in a 4-Hour Rally/scavenger hunt hosted by Eurosport

The trip to Indy for the MotoGP was a great time dispite the crazy rain and wind. We were able to park on the back stretch of the Indy oval and everyone that went can now say they've hit the wall at Indy. We also got to do a parade lap Monday after the race and most everyone drug their feet across the yard of bricks. The whole trip was a great time and if you didn't make it, you need to consider going next year because it really was a great time. Check out pictures and videos of the trip in the gallery, MotoGP Indy Trip.

The 4-hour rally at Eurosport on 9/21 was a good time. Bird, Dragonfly, and Sckego were there representing FWMR as dozens of bikes spread out from Fort Worth in search of waypoints. They didn’t get into the running for any prizes (a few wrong turns will do that), but it was still a fun Sunday morning ride, and it gave us a few ideas for setting up one of our own events like this.

A TV crew filmed one of our bike nights for B-roll footage for an upcoming HD TV show called 1000cc Raw Thrill. It was a great bike night too! We had between 25 and 30 motorcycles and filled the entire room at The Fox and Hound. A big thanks needs to go out to Fox and Hound for being so supportive and accomidating. They have been doing an outstanding job of taking care of us. In addition to the film crew we saw several new faces, some old faces we've missed and a great time was had by all. We also announced three new meatballs, a new ride leader, and Darc Shadow received a plaque for his hard work he's done with the web pages, club trips, and loads of other club related business.

Firewa11 competed in the CMRA races the last weekend of Sept and places 15th of 23 racers. Firewa11 has now completed his Novice racer requirements and has become an offical Novice and no longer has to wear the yellow shirt!
