For that much money, I want fast conditions for that track. March can still be cool that time a year. Not to mention much higher chance of rain.

I take it that you are a fan of TWS? What makes it such a great place? What about the pros and cons of COTA and MSRH?

TWS is a fantastic track for a number of reasons:

1) Aside from COTA (which is disproportionately more expensive), TWS is the fastest track in Texas, and arguably the funnest one as well. The front straight uses the banked NASCAR straight, which is long enough to put your bike into top end of 6th gear. The back straight is not quite as long, but still plenty fast.

2) The track configuration flows extremely well. From diving into T1 at 150-170 mph to wheelie hill, to the banked T7 that makes you feel like Sonic the hedgehog, to the carousel at T10, it is full of incredibly fun turns that are easy to ride, but difficult to master.

3) The amount of history that this track has (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_World_Speedway). This isn't your run-of-the-mill local racetrack. Texas is going to lose a fantastic motorsports venue when this place finally does get demolished.

MSR Houston is a fun track in its own right, especially since it is by far the most technical track in Texas. It is not the easiest track to learn, so the first time you ride it, you might be cursing it, but the more you ride it, the more fun it becomes (this is true for all tracks, but especially so at MSRH).

The downside to both TWS and MSRH is that the track surface is in rough shape, but that is also an aspect that will make you a better rider. If you can be fast on the rough Texas tracks, then you can be fast anywhere.

Yeah, after riding the ruff tracks in Texas for years then going to Barber and listening to the locals complain about the bumps there it just made me laugh, they have no idea what a ruff track is.

I am going to try to make it to TWS this time. Never know when it will be the last chance.

I'd be content with you just coming back and hanging out in TX for a while.

I would also like to run TWS before it closes... It seems like every time they've run it in the last two years I have something going on. Now that my kiddo is at A&M in College Station, maybe I'd actually see her also... :)
