Just in case it’s filling fast now. Normally we can’t use credits to Cota, but since that March date had no makeup we can. I am signed up for level 1 Sunday.

What the Professionals say about COTA:
Marquez "it’s so easy to make mistakes. Most difficult is to be constant all the laps. It’s really bumpy; sometimes you have to change your lines every lap."
Rossi "It is one of the most particular tracks of the season, maybe the most difficult, most technical—long, up and down. You have 20 corners, so it’s a long way to the end of the lap. ... It’s difficult because it’s a very tricky track; it has a lot of secrets, a lot of points where you can lose very much."
Miller "I’m looking forward to coming here 100 percent fit this year to see how many whoops are on the back straight."

I would agree but these guys are going in excess of 220mph standing on the brakes at times, I dunno how the hell they do that.

I wish I would have ridden cota when it first opened.

At an AirBnB 2 miles from the track. It’s hot, it’s humid, it sucks. But at least it’s dry out

It went well, another successful day.
Let’s see: there was a full on Harley bagger and 54 other sorts of sport bikes, so that was new, kind of like a Grom in level 2. 55 riders in level one. So sit and bake to be up front or lose 15% of each session as 60 rides and staff start in front of you, the choice is yours.
You’d think it would be easier to pass on such a huge and long track. Not so much when the guy in front, or girl, is on a Ducati. Unless you’re an instructor, then F it, pass wherever you like, bulldog people off their line, like Dave didn’t didn’t spend the first half hour yapping about safety, and if you rear end someone you’re out for a year, and don’t be so aggressive.
Now I take RoadRacingWorld and I’ll agree there are some bumps out there. New ones I noticed between 1 and 2 and 2 and 3. Something called the Great Weaper in the S’s, covered in what looked like super grippy loose dirt. Like for $50k a track day you’d think a sweeper truck could go out a little.
Super cool run off, curb usually flat and chewed to crap, and then green paint with a grippy rough texture, tested and approved twice. I hit 139 in low on the back straight, the fastest I’ve ever seen. I made an ugly 2nd to third shift, and got a quick head shake at about 100 on the front straight, that was a first, other than that it’s amazingly stable with no damper. Other than that...

60 bikes on the track at once? It's a long track, but wow.

I guess that number of people would be equivalent to 30 on the 1.7 at Cresson if people were spread out evenly. Matt, do you know how many they usually book for Cresson? But if Cresson is any indication people are not going to stay spread out evenly, and it is a long way to get to the pits to pull off and wait for an open space.

I do not know what they consider full. And you are right it bunches up at COTA. I only hot pitted once to get away from slow riders. And was behind 15-20 rides once, into 12 off the back straight. They didn’t seem to do a lot of flag waving besides the checkered. Let seven riders get together on the 1.3 and Dave is all over the radio, at COTA, which is not run by RS, not so much.

Matt that sounds totally fun. So was this a one and done thing, or will you do COTA again?

As long as they take partial credit I would. With the low availability of a makeup day at Cresson, that may be more of the norm anyway. The surface is going, so the sooner the better.
