Moderate Ride, Saturday, 4/16

Post by LonestarCBR » Wed Apr 06, 2016 6:17 am

Subject: MODERATE - SATURDAY, April 16

FWMR Club Ride

Meetup: Sonic on Clifford St. in White Settlement
Map/Directions: http://www.fwmr.net/SonicMap.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Kick stands up: 9:00 a.m.
Ride Leader: LonestarCBR

This will be a Moderate pace ride. Moderates are great for riders who want a slightly faster pace than beginners but still slow enough to be relaxed and comfortable on any sized bike, with a passenger, or learning to ride with the group. The pace for a moderate ride is at or near posted speed limits. On a Moderate ride the ride leader tries to keep a closer eye on the group and adjust the speeds appropriately.

Please be dressed appropriately: helmet, jacket, gloves, over the ankle shoes and long pants...and tires in good condition. Be gassed up and ready to go please, and if you'd like breakfast as Sonic, please arrive early enough to eat. Our schedule may be a little tight.

UPDATE: Looking at roughly a 130 mile route from Sonic to track at Cresson - expect to be there in the 11:30 to 12:00 time frame. The track will be the end point of the ride...it will be a straight 25 mile or so shot up Hwy 377 to Fort Worth for everyone to find their way home.

The goal is to end up at Cresson to check out the Ridesmart trackday, and visit with the large contingent of FWMR peeps who are participating. It's a good opportunity to checkout the track day experience if you haven't done so. If we arrive in time, and they hold a Parade Lap, it's also a good opportunity to try out the track at a leisurely street pace.

Ride still on. Weather looks a little sketchy, but not until the afternoon if it happens, then it's a 40-50% chance of scattered. I plan on riding where it's unscattered.

Where is everyone? I'm bored. I wanna ride! Well, until I fall back from the group due to very low corner speeds. Haha.

Good thing you skipped Aledo. The bikers were everywhere and they were blocking traffic. Assholes.
