I don't get why he wasn't trying to get the bike out of the way to start with. Sure, he couldn't get it started or what ever but he could have gotten off and pushed the damn thing over to the edge.

I think that's standard practice. Best bet is to stay stationary. If he started moving, the bikes wouldn't know where to go.

Only reason there was an accident was the whole lane was side to side bikes, no where for anyone to go.
