Hi.
I'm digi and I am awesome. I like candlelit dinners and long walks on the beach. The voices inside my head told me to post here. Here is a post.

The meaning of life is good sex and a fast motorcycle. I would combine the two, but I would end up wheelie-ing the girl and spooging on my bike.

Re: Hi.
It should be 'Welcome back'! It's been a while. Still riding cruisers?
I was looking at one at Freedom Powersports last weekend. Seems like a decent price for what you get. Lots of aftermarket pieces for it. And a turbo kit! I may consider one once I pay off the R1.

In Texas it is an "Autocycle" (yes, they made up a new category) which is German for "safety equipment of a MC, license requirements of a car." Which in English roughly translates to "fun."fixxervi6 wrote:For sure NOT a motorcycle, however I've been thinking about renting one and giving it a go just for grins

Re: Hi.
Really, so you don't need a MC license to drive one of those things? Re: Hi.
I hadn't heard of the SB449 law, but some of the interesting points are below...
Can a child ride in an autocycle?
SB449 amends section TRC 545.416 to state that passengers may only ride in the seat
of an autocycle, and an operator may not carry another person in an autocycle unless
that person is at least 5 years old.
The autocycle is equipped with a safety restraint system, are riders required
to wear the safety restraint system?
State law does not require riders to put on the restraint system, but riders should
comply with the manufacturer’s suggestions for safe operation.
What type of driver license is required for an autocycle?
SB449 amends TRC Chapter 521 where an autocycle can be operated on a Class C
license. This is because an autocycle is stable, has a steering wheel, and uses
traditional throttle and brakes like a motor vehicle does.
What type of license plate is on an autocycle?
For purposes of titling, registration, and inspection an autocycle will be considered a
motorcycle. This is because the autocycle cannot meet the definition of a motor vehicle
as required by federal statutes (airbag, crash ratings, enclosed, etc). The autocycle can
meet the federal definition of a motorcycle as built so that is why the manufacturer can
issue a certificate for a motorcycle.
Do riders of an autocycle need to wear a helmet?
Yes, SB449 amends the helmet section requiring a helmet. The standard exemption
from the helmet requirement of having sufficient insurance also applies to an
autocycle. Peace officers cannot stop a motorcycle or autocycle for the sole purpose of
determining if a rider is in compliance with this section.

Re: Hi.
You have a helmet on, you don't need a seatbelt too. I would guess it's not required to be worn, because the vehicle is not required to have them and if they were required to be worn, then the manufacture would also be required to have them meet certain regulations. They way they are now it could be a rope across the seat if the manufactures wanted.LonestarCBR wrote:Well that just seems dumb as hell.nitzer wrote:I hadn't heard of the SB449 law, but some of the interesting points are below...

Re: Hi.
Nope, two different animals to me. It's dumb to ride a motorcycle without your protective gear. That's my apples-to-apples comparison.
It's odd to me that they aren't required, call it what you want, but it's basically a car, or maybe more like a dune buggy on the road. I assume (don't know for sure), that seat belts are required in the dune buggy.
