Kendall Jones

Post by Firewa11 » Fri Jul 11, 2014 8:34 am

Well, I'm sure people have read about this, me personally, I say leave her the hell alone. Just because you don't understand the concept of proper wildlife game management doesn't mean you have to attack someone's lifestyle. I mean, hell I am beyond impressed by anyone taking down a Lion with a freaking bow during a stalk hunt. I can't even see a deer when I try stalk hunting much less a giant cat that would eat my eyes for juju bees.

That being said, this is hilarious...

I haven't heard the story, but based on the write-up (Facebook?) I'm assuming that person thinks meat comes from the store and not animals. Idiot.

I love how people call hunters uneducated. Every hunter I have ever had the pleasure of hunting with was actually smarter and knowledgeable about a wide array of subjects, far more than those claiming to be 'more educated'. And each and every hunter was one that understood the ecosystem... and things like proper balance of prey, predators, etc. I think the general population has this uneducated viewpoint that hunters are a bunch of gun-toting rednecks that shoot and kill everything that moves just 'because'. Morons.

One of the things I teach... It's the bell curve... For those not familiar with the bell curve....

Image

One one side you have 10% of the population that are anti-hunters, on the other side you have 10% of the population that are hunters. IN the middle you have 80% of the population that are indifferent. Now the 10% on either side of the curve are never going to agree with each other. No matter how educated/un-educated they say each other are; or how educated one becomes on the others point of view. Those two sides will just never agree, period. It's the 80% of the population we have to worry about. That's why as a hunter you don't go into town on Sunday morning for breakfast in bloody camos with your dear propped up on the hood of the truck with sunglasses on it, and cigar hanging out of it's mouth. We don't want to piss off that 80%. You piss off that 80% and that's when we will lose our rights to hunt.

On a side note.... I group teach Hunters Education at the Grand Prairie Gun Club. I run the field excersize portion of the class. That's where we go through differenct scenarios of shoot / no-shoot situations, and different things that can happen to you in the field while out hunting. We also go over some of the finer points of the laws, as ethics of hunting.

If anyone needs to get their Hunters Education Certificate get with me, and I can go over everything you'll need to do, and get you in a future class with my group. Same if anyone's kids need to get their certificate.

If anyone is just interested in learning a little more and wants to come observe my portion of the class you are welcome. Just PM me and I'll get you details to come out. And on this part, I do have a class tomorrow morning, if anyone want's to observe.
