Barber & Dragon

Post by DarcShadow » Fri Jan 24, 2014 11:11 am

Brian, instructor with RS and active member on MotoDFW, and some guys are planning a trip to Barber Aug. 23rd/24th, and then up to the Dragon Mon-Thur. I How to go, just have to sort things out with schedules. Anyone else interestind in going?

In the past I've spend around $1000 for the entire trip, including gas, food, track time, and lodging.

I will probably leave Thursday night and spend the night near Tyler at our time share, (Free). It's not a huge head start, but it does get us out of the Friday morning Dallas traffic and allows you to sleep in and leave at a reasonable time. Will and I did this 2 years ago and it worked out nice, made the whole drive feel shorter.

FYI, the Airbenders/Dallas guys are now planning on going up the week before the track day. I don't think I'll be able to make that work with my schedule but I'm still thinking about going to the dragon after the track weekend if I can get a few people together.

Depending on who and how many goes we'll likely be taking a truck or two and a trailer or two. Naturally we'll shoot for the most effecent option and try to make the trip as cheap as possible.

Anyone else interested in this? I'd really like to hit the Dragon after the track weekend, but if it's just Will and myself we won't be able to make the cost of the rental house reasonable.

I'd be interested in going to Barber, but the August 23/24 is a race weekend, so I wouldn't be able to do it then.

The Aug. 23/24 Barber trackday is only about 3.5 months away and I'm thinking if anyone is going we should probably start making plays and registering for the event.

fixxer and u-turn have expressed interest. Do either you know with any more certantity if you'll be able to make it? Registration is through Sportbike Track Time. You have to be a member, $45 and the 2 day bundle for Barber is $420.

Will expressed interest in hitting the Dragon, you know any more on that? At this point I'm thinking we'll just get a motel/hotel as I don't think we're going to have enough people to offset the cost of a house.
