2012 Photo Challenge

Post by Rhino » Thu Feb 02, 2012 11:18 pm

I think it's time. The drama of the last one has settled down, and I miss the excuse to go ride for pictures at random times. So let's start up a new photo challenge, with a few simple rules:

Rule #1: Have fun! The spirit of this game is to have a good time riding to take pictures. Friendly competition is fine. Drama bombs, not so much.

Rule #2: Don't be a derpyface. What's a derpyface you ask? Causing drama is being a derpyface. Rule nazis are derpyfaces. People who post as other people to get their pictures approved are derpyfaces. People who tag team with someone else posting from their phones so nobody else gets a chance are derpyfaces. No being a derpyface, got it?

Rule #3: There is no scoring. Don't even bother keeping count, you all start with infinity points so a few more don't matter.

Rule #4: If you don't like the current challenge, or nobody has gotten the challenge in a few days, post your own challenge. It's even cooler if you ride somewhere to take an interesting picture so we have something to look at with your new challenge. Armchair challenging is lame, get out and ride.

Rule #5: If you ride out to get a challenge and come home to find somebody else already posted it, no big deal. Post your pic too. Post another challenge too if you feel like it. There can be more than one active challenge at a time. That's just another place to go ride, and riding is fun. Remember rule #1? Have fun!

Rule #6: Challenges need to be local to the DFW area. It was fun for us at Barber to post Barber-specific stuff, but we were kind of being derpyfaces to everybody back home. And that's against rule #2. So while the pics don't necessarily have to be taken in DFW (so sckego can play too!), the challenges must be able to be satisfied around DFW. I'm not going to specify some number of miles. Denton is probably ok. Gainesville may be pushing it. Houston is being a derpyface. Try to keep it in the spirit of fun, you know? :D

That's it for the rules. Let's have a good time with this!

First challenge, your bike with somebody else posing on it.

Aw, shucks.

Challenge: Your bike with somebody else posing on it.

I want to see Grinner's entry for this one, as well. :boobs:

Next challenge: Your bike with some major component (wheel, gas tank, etc) missing. Removing the seat doesn't count.

I have an elevator i could do this in if i timed it right, then again keep in mind putting your bike in an elevator can get you in serious trouble. With that being said....i should have this pic sometime next week :)

Challenge: Your bike in a n elevator!

i don't live in ft worth so i don't have parking garages like y'all(hint hint), but i have one in my work parking lot that is just an outside elevator. I have to get the motorcycle on the sidewalk, but we already discussed that's where i've done some of my best riding :)

My reason for posting that is that it opens it up for people to think outside of the box, instead of trying to get their bike inside of the office they work in :-) There are a ton of grain elevators in Saginaw!

But can you get a bike in one? I've never been close enough to one to see what they actually look like.

Miles you'd better roll quick because I've got a couple Pit Bull stands at home waiting to elevate my bike. :D

While a pit bull stand will elevate a bike, I wouldn't consider it an elevator. It's a stand, not a mechanical device.

Now a hydraulic bike lift could be one. :)
