well this radio won't transmit on CB frequencies, shit.

It's also complicated AF, cranked ip to max power and keyed it up, the speakers in the room didn't like that.

Playing around just trying to get a ping back from a local repeater, no dice.

No, not CB frequencies. CB is around 11 meters (27MHz) , the radio you bought is designed to transmit on 2 meters (145MHz) and 70 centimeters (440MHz). It is much closer to FRS/GMRS (460MHz) and MURS (150MHz) frequencies. Though the FCC recently made a ruling (some call it the Baofeng rule) that says you cannot import non-type accepted handheld radios that are easily modifiable to transmit beyond their intended frequency range. The Chinese radio makers then had to go back and modify their software to make it more difficult to set the frequencies outside the Ham radio bands. I won't say that there isn't a work around, I haven't looked at any of the new radios enough to know. In any case, it isn't likely that even if you had one of the radios from before the ruling you'd have been able to modify the prior version of that radio to transmit in the 27MHz CB range, but they were easily programmed for FRS/GMRS channels.

I was able to mount the tire without issues on Sunday. No issues using my hand while changing the tire, but when I went for a ride it started to stiffen up a bit. It's probably going to take a while to fully heal.
