S1000RR color adjustment

Post by DemonDuck » Mon Apr 02, 2018 12:11 pm

So I am going to finally paint the white parts of my S1k. The paint has been peeling for a while and I have finally had enough. So I figure that since I am going to paint it I might as well change the color a little. I am debating between a satin black/matte black and CF look. Here are some pictures of the current colors and the ideas of what to go to. What do yall think?

Obviously it's your call, but I don't care for the look of black at all. A lighter color up front helps make the rest of the bike pop. A metallic silver or pearl would look good I think.

I prefer the white on that machine.

I think black bikes tend to look plane - I ride a black bike now so just sayin

The reason I don't want to go white is that it shows every bit of bug guts and stuff... hard to keep clean. If I went with the hydro dip of CF or even the wrap of CF I would then slowly replace those parts with real CF. Might still happen that way if I go satin black. I will have to think it over some more.

Well if you don't want to see the bug guts just paint it white with black, green, and yellow speckles. ha!

That is unless you remove the limiter which can be done in a couple of ways. I have not removed mine so 186 it is.

The parts are painted and ready to be put back on the bike. I will post pictures after I get it all back together.
