R6 smiles
R6 smiles
I've been commuting most days on my 09CBR1K but this a.m. the 2005R6 was back in the garage and It needed a warm-up for an oil change. I had forgotten how fun that bike is to ride. It felt light, nimble, and it may have something to do with riding a slower bike fast as opposed to riding a faster bike slow(not sure exactly how this works given that I don't ride the CBR slow), but dang that was fun! Anyone out there had a fun ride lately you want to share?

I've been picking at the video and an AD Sync issue so I'll get something up eventually

Re: R6 smiles
I don't know about that. I tend to get a smile every time I ride a bike I've not ridden in a while or maybe have never ridden. I think if you were used to the R6 and jumped on the 1K you'd smile when you twisted the throttle. Whenever I go to bike demo events I always find myself grinning at something. A couple weeks ago I found myself grinning at several points riding the same VStrom I've put over 12K miles on because we were riding in a different environment and challenging myself in new ways. (And I have the scars in the skid plate to show for it.)

Re: R6 smiles
I had a nice 'dual sport' ride today. Not as much off road as I would have liked, but the GS handles high speed corners nicely.

I have heard that same comment from several GS owners. BTW this morning when I was in triple digits I actually was passed by an R1 he may have been smiling more than I was!!!dufremle wrote:I had a nice 'dual sport' ride today. I'm appreciating the Street Triple more so now that I've ridden the KLR around some. It feels much sportier, lighter, and faster than I remember! On the other hand, I love taking the KLR offroad through what used to be "forbidden territory"! I understand why people have multiple bikes now...
