Ever transport a sport bike in a full size van?

Post by WickerMan » Thu Aug 30, 2018 9:59 am

I'm looking for experience and ease in general, fit, ect.

I sold the Nighthawk last night and now I'm looking for something with a low load height floor for transport. A Mini truck might work. Something I can do by myself if necessary.

I'm not looking to pull any trailers with the cars I have now.

Vans use to be pretty common in the racing community and there are still a few that do that. Down side or up depending on how you look at it, you get all the smells of the bike in the van.

A truck and decent ramp and you can easily load a bike on your own. Even a bad ramp and some creative parking and loading on your own can be pretty easy.

Side note, what is it with Honda and hawks? Nighthawk, Blackhawk, Superhawk, Hawk, how many hawk bikes have they made?

Did they make a Blackhawk? I think you meant Blackbird, CBR1100XX

Their logo is a wing

No, I googled it. I couldn't remember the Superhawk and thought it was blackhawk so that's what I googled and found some. Also found a bike just called Hawk.

I have loaded the ZX14 in a E250 for a trip so ..... yes it is doable however I do believe the pickup is a better solution.

I like the idea of it locked up and out of the elements. I have this extra 240SX, and I would rather have that than a van or truck that will only be transport. I've seen fold down ramp end motorcycle trailers for $300-750. UHaul wants $400 to hitch and wire the 240sx, and maybe that can be done for less.

I got this Wednesday for $700. The hitch installed is $410 at U-Haul. So I’ll be towing with an old 240 after all.
