Bike Night Discussion

Post by dufremle » Fri Jan 04, 2019 11:39 am

Turnout at recent Bike Nights has been low. I wanted to ask if anyone has some suggestions as to maybe moving to a different location or a different night. Maybe a different week of the month instead of the first? We are starting a new year so it's a good time to possibly make some changes. Post up or send me a PM.

I know we have tried Flips Patio Grill, Boomer Jacks and a few other places. Does anyone have a place they would like us to check out?

For me, night of the week is an issue, and EVERYONE goes out on Thursdays so parking at most places is a bitch.

Time is the other issue, working in Dallas trying to get to Fort Worth and be in bed by 9pm is hell

Third issue is I live in two places now, half the time I'm not here.

Flips busy hours are later in the evening on Thursdays so parking and getting tables shouldn't be an issue.

I'd be down with changing it up for old Chicago on Wednesdays.

I spend a lot of time at Old Chicago. :D

They have a great beer selection, an OK liquor selection and the food is good. Parking might be an issue if they are busy but it shouldn't be bad. I haven't been there on Wednesday so I don't know if it's a busy night or not.

I guess you need to check it out tonight then. :D

Bringing this back up. What does everyone think about changing night to Wednesday and going to Old Chicago (Presidio)? Too late to change it for this month, but maybe next month.

Never been there, I'm happy to give it a try. Wednesdays would actually work quite well for me.

Let's do an unofficial bike night on Wednesday, Mar 27. That way we can check it out and see if it will work out. I do know they changed the menu and removed my two favorite items: pork 'wings'and Pub Pizzas. They may have added a couple of things, though.

For those that attended, what did you think of Old Chicago? Wednesday seems to not be that busy, although they were doing Bingo later on. There is plenty of parking and an outdoor patio for the warmer months, with parking available next to the patio for bikes.

I liked it although the prices are a bit higher. I do like the idea of bike night on Wednesdays though, works out better for my schedule.

Let' do Plucker's this week as it's kind of late to change it. I am going to set up another unofficial one for later this month. I was thinking Wed. the 24th at Flips Patio Grill. How does that sound?
