Galfer makes some really great brake products. They just happen to have an oversize free floating rotor for $150. I was wanting to make my own with the help of shaun for a custom set up, providing massive braking power for the tiny bike(using standard calipers from a street bike). In the long run that will happen.

I ran Galfer brake lines in the past. Good stuff.

Everything is coming together pretty good now. I've cranked the motor and just waiting on some jets to come in so I can dial in the yz80 carb. Next up will be setting up the suspension for my weight and revalving. Since the forks are all the way up to the handlebars I'll have to get them lowered as well. The suspension work will be the most costly.

After that it's all about small stuff to finish it up and put the plastics back on.

Yeah, at your average rate on this thing it should be done some time in 2020. :)

Suspension should be back sometime next week. OnRoad OffRoad is putting a racetech rear spring and shimming the valves for me. He is also cutting down the front forks and is having Cannon out of Oklahoma make special springs for the front. Shims as well.

Decided to order new plastics. I hope to have it fully put together next week and small amount of testing the week after

Testing day: took the ttr to an empty lot and gave it a mild beating. Hesitates a bit on the low end, but I shouldn’t ever be in that rpm range. I’ll take the spark plug out and give it a look later, but the bike ran excellent.

Since it was on smooth pavement it’s hard to say about the suspension work I had done, but felt ok. I don’t have warmers yet, but I slowly tried to work up the grip. Few minutes later I was dragging knee in a circle with plenty more left, but I ended up running out of gas.

Went with 450f brakes and a kx250 rotor. Felt horrible, I’ll have to figure something else out.

Bike has some minor touches needing done, but I’m over all very pleased after all these years. I do plan on getting it to a mini track when I can, but we will see...about to be some crazy changes for me.

Pic below for how she sits currently. Image
