Valve Clearance question

So I have put the recommended 2.5 hours on my 2018 crf450r. The intake valve clearance spec is 0.13mm +,- 0.03mm and the exhaust valve spec is 0.28mm +,- 0.03mm.

I measured both intakes at 0.09. 0.04 out of spec. I measured Left exhaust at 0.23 and the right exhaust at 0.24. 0.05 and 0.04 out of spec.

My question for someone who has more experience with valves. Are these numbers oddly out of spec for a new bike or is it typical to need to replace all four shims after only 2.5 hours?

Agree! If I just had all you guys as neighbors life would be great! Hell before Shaun moved he lived just a couple miles west of my house. At least I have Wickerman just up the street! Seems like everyone else is North of Fort Worth. The reflashed ECU should be back tomorrow, I will be crossing my fingers when I hit that start button!

Hey Shane,
Those valves definitely need to be brought back into spec. Its not unusual for new valves to be out of spec after such a short time, just look at aprilia...

Hey thanks, I was able to get some shims from the KTM store over on pioneer parkway. A couple of weeks ago I was headed up to that little track you showed me when I realized it was race weekend at TMS and diverted to Shady Grove. That was a fun day!
