If you watch War of the Worlds backwards, it's about aliens who come back to life in Giant machines, and create people out of clothes floating through the air with laser beams, before burying themselves in the ground before a big lightning storm hits.

It's pretty much exactly the same as forward, only it starts off REALLY strange with a "vacume sucking stuff up".

If you watch Die Hard backwards, a bunch of terrorists help to repair a skyscraper before a big Christmas party. And Bruce Willis runs around with a bullet vaccum gun bringing the terrorists back to life while cleaning the blood off of him as he goes.

The Goonies - backwards is about some spoiled rich kids that hide a bunch of treasure in a ship while setting a bunch of traps, steal a mongaloid's candy, then go back home to find their dad got his job back and a big developer decided not to buy their houses.

If you watch Star Trek: TNG backwards, the crew flies through space, has an adventure, and then...flies through more space. Nothing about them will be fundamentally different.

Back to the Future. A time traveler goes to the future, or back to the past, or...ah hell, who knows.
