Re: Cresson, July 16 & 17

Checked my last session...1:39:90, 1:40:70, some 1:42's. The track was clearing a little, and I was picking up my straight-away speed some. Then I realized I was gassed and quit.

Re: Moderate ride Sunday July 24th 9am

Yeah, I rode 105 miles just to get to the starting point of one of miles' rides, 105 home, 190 in between, in July, in 100 degrees, in leathers...

...while riding uphill in snow both ways.

Okay, the first part was true.

Re: Cresson, July 16 & 17

Just quick glance at video at 1:49 I was running along with what I would call about 50% of the riders. At 1:45 I was starting to crawl all over some of them, getting passed by a few others. This was on the CW, and I would say people were being more cautious than CCW overall. At no point did I ever w...

Re: Cresson, July 16 & 17

No idea, I was taking it easy on the straights versus hauling ass and trying to focus on lines, and later body position. Sunday I picked the pace up, and I have some video, might be able to figure it out from that.

Re: Cresson, July 16 & 17

I do not get and will never understand the mentality of people "being held up" and getting frustrated, there are for sure frustrations but being held up is not one of them, please let me expand a bit - I made this comment a few times, and it was in regard to riding in L1. And I'm not talk...

First time in L2 this weekend.

In L1, just like on the highway, just frustrated with slow traffic was the point. So moving up to L2 helped that a lot...that was my point.

I was referring to the fact that in L1 there was always a traffic jam...not so much in L2.

Re: Cresson, July 16 & 17

L3 guys were in L2 to some degree because of the CMRA racers who filled up L3 to practice for this coming weekend (so sayeth the instructors). I found having to worry about only the people in front of me a little frustrating...very hard to develop a rhythm and improve my skills as I'm progressing. B...

Looping car camera...cheap!

Someone was talking about buying one of these a while back. This is cheap enough to take a chance on, and they've sold several thousand of them.

Well, dufremle and stoney may have succumbed to it at least a little. And of course if you look at his garage, he's pretty good at Jediing himself too.

Re: Cresson, July 16 & 17

Agreed. The problem with mixing just graduated L1 people through competent L3 people that have been forced into L2 due to no space in L3, is mixing all of those lines at different speeds. Starts looking kind of like riding on the street again...got to be looking everywhere for everyone. But, it's fu...

And that's why you don't go to a dealership with fixxer, he'll Jedi mind-trick you into buying a bike. I'm fairly certain he's getting kickbacks.

Re: Cresson, July 16 & 17

Yeah, it was actually kind of comical at times, and while I screwed them up on occasion, I was at least making a concerted effort to follow the line THEN pick my speed up. It was interesting however...the instructors voiced a lot of different opinions about lines...maybe that's a L2 thing...in L1 it...

Re: Happy Birthday DemonDuck!

When I was over getting my suspensions setup with Roger, I met and visited with a young man name Noe, who was actually just to our left on Saturday. He was riding a red CBR1000 I think it was. A bit later there is a bike down at the entrance to the 3 corners if I'm not mistaken, and in a bit here th...

Tires, or Tyres if you prefer. I've espoused my love of the Metzeler Interact Racetec tires that came on my Triumph. The are the K1 compound (actually K2 on the front now), and I never could make myself switch back to my normal Dunlops after riding these. No, the life isn't as long as some, but the ...
