Re: Anyone have a 04-06 R1, and a "test Pen"

If you tell us what he said then we might be able to tell you if it sounds right. :icon_whs0be: Some common problems in intermittent starting systems are wires gone bad - a burnt wire or connector, worn insulation, bad ground, corroded connector. There is normally a relay in the starting circuit as...

Re: Anyone have a 04-06 R1, and a "test Pen"

No, no warranty had this bike for almost 2 yrs now. This is what he said, which like I said I dont agree with what he said but he might have something. He took a test pen and with the bike off clamped one end to the positive battery terminal the tip of the pen he touched to the screw in the starter ...

Anyone have a 04-06 R1, and a "test Pen"

Had a "mechanic" test my bike today why it wouldnt start gave me his opinion not to convincing but want to see if someone will do the same test with their 04-06 R1. Maybe he is right and its an easy fix for my bike. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: PC3 Question

Before you start throwing parts at it I would take it to a shop and have them check it out. If it was charging then most likely the battery is bad. Sometimes they can test fine when they really have a short. You might also check to make sure the connections between the charging system and the batte...

Re: PC3 Question

FYI, the USB cable is the same type that a Blackberry uses. Not sure if that helps you or not, but it's not a specialized cable. You should be able to find one, even in Mexico. yeah but im not planning on getting another bike until I get back to Texas, and my 04-06R1 PC3 wont be useful because I wi...

Re: another charging system failure?

Did a couple tests n think it's the starter. I get 12.3 volts bike off, and 13.8 bike at 5k rpm. But as I'm trying to start it, it drops to about 9volts so between me n a ex R1 owner think it's the starter

I have a strong suspicion it might be the alarm on the bike. I will run that test once my frend gets off work so I can use his multimeter. Thanks I'll see what the outcome is.

Re: Michelin Pilot Power combo sets with free shipping

:icon_threadjacked: My compressor is do to me not fixing the a/c system, since that hose has a cut in it. It appears that what coolant and/or oil was left has leaked out also. Thus, causing the pulley to have resistance on it, and not spin freely. As for price, my shop quoted me $1150 for everythin...
