Re: R6 replaced by R7

Ape has the 660 now, something I think that's been needed for a long time, streetable power without having to go into insane liter bike ranges. Right, and I think the R7 is a response, not to the RS-660 specifically, but to the same market pressures that drove Aprilia to make the RS-660. But also, ...

R6 replaced by R7

https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/rworld-yzf-r7 We knew the R6 was going away, now we know what the replacement is. Engine is based on the parallel twin from the MT07 with a 270 degree firing order. Looks like a much more street focus with a more well rounded power curve and a more comfortable seate...

It is Bret Tkacs, you may like or hate his style, but there is plenty of good information.

Is this going to be the normal $295 or is it different for the "private day?"

Here's another one of that shiny new bike passing me like I'm a stationary object.

Re: Msrc 3-29, 316 trackdays

Good find Jim. You can see him ride over the bums I was talking about starting around 0:25. You can see the bike bounce around, but the stabilization on the video is really good. And that first guy he passes isn't me.

Re: Msrc 3-29, 316 trackdays

And while I was out there on Friday, I noticed a bunch of guys standing just over the wall from the hot pit wearing Ducati shirts. Then there was this guy on the track making even the fast guys look like stationary obstacles. Turns out it was Loris Baz. Here he is just about to pass me like I'm stan...

Re: Msrc 3-29, 316 trackdays

I was able to get on the newly paved track on Friday. It is better, but far from perfect. I think the biggest improvement is that the seems that used to run the full length of the track, dividing it into three lanes, are gone. So you don't have to worry about running along one while leaned over, you...

Re: Msrc 3-29, 316 trackdays

A little more info on the re-paving: The did some work on the pond between Ricochet and Boot Hill, increasing capacity. They fixed/improved the drain the goes under the track just past Ricochet. Apparently the old pavement was somewhere in the 8" - 12" thick range. What they did was strip ...

Re: Msrc 3-29, 316 trackdays

The BIG NEWS... They are repaving the 1.7 mi track right now. That means the 29th will be one of the first MC track days to use the new surface! Now, I do not know what they are doing the old surface, if they are actually taking ALL of the old pavement completely out, or if they are just grinding it...

Re: Revised KLR coming

I looked at the details, more from a curiosity standpoint than anything. Seems like the market would be pretty narrow given the competition we have today. It is nearly 50lbs heavier than the previous version, which seems like a deal breaker. I'm sure that's the Euro-5 stuff kicking in like the enhan...

Rick's K-Bike

Rick, Now that you have had your K-1600 for a little while, I'm curious what you think about the performance and handling vs. the GSA. I would have to assume that the extra power is noticeable, especially at highway speeds, and it probably doesn't give much up, if any, on the bottom end. How is the ...

SportBikeTrackGear.com
They were about $10 cheaper than most other places and free shipping. And I mount it myself so no issue there.
