I finally got around to building an 8-cell lithium battery for my KTM and fitted it with a new battery box. All was back to factory condition, supposedly. Before I buttoned everything back up I decided to test the charging system. Good thing too - it wasnt working. The stator checks out fine so it must be the R/R.
With 8 cells the bike cranks much faster and starts instantly. I fixed the ground wire and theres no more dead button-itis.
The replacement R/R arrives later this week but in the meantime I've done some cosmetic work to the beasty.
Before:
Ugly.
After:
Not quite so ugly...
Not really the design I was hoping for but it was the cheapest. And stickers never last long with my riding... I've crashed this thing more than 100 times. (I'd rather do that than crash on the track, which I havent done since 1994.)

The world needs Miles
Sometimes you gotta draw the line, but that doesn't mean it can't be squiggly-miles
