Need help now!

Post by milesmiles » Thu May 31, 2012 7:21 pm

I have a track day saturday. Was coming home and in my parking lot, gave it a little gas and notice it just reved up. Nothing it's like i don't have a clutch! i can put it into any gear and i don't even have to pull in the clutch. Also I can rev it all day long in any gear. I've heard no noises or anything, everything seems normal. I checked cables and crap everything seems fine. I don't even know where to start hurry help me

Ok so i need the size of the threads for this bolt which is (32mm) doesn't have to be 32, but that is what it was. I'm pretty sure home depot will not have anything that big. I get off at 5pm so rushing to rpm cycles in dallas is just almost not doable. I'm not missing this track day for a stupid bolt

Does cyclegear sell them? I can always stop on my way home and pick you one up.

Or Eurosport...would they have them in stock?

Well, if you find a place that has it, have them set it aside for you and let them know that someone will be in to pick it up. Let me know and I will run up there and get it for you...seeing how I am usually done work by 1pm.

I know a guy with the right bolt.

You're going to need a flashlight and a big wrench.

Does this guy need to spread some cheeks (why the flashlight is needed)?

Sorry, that just "You're going to need a flashlight and big wrech" just sounded dirty :SideSplittingLaughter: .

:SideSplittingLaughter: Well, hope y'all don't let Will know when you are going to show up :SideSplittingLaughter: Sh!t, y'all shouldn't have said anything on here about it because if he gets on here AND reads this (if he ever catches up on the posts), then he might "hide" his bike. :-)

You know, since Will is not doing track this weekend, if he was a really good pal he should loan you the bolt, don't you think?

That's kinda what I'm thinking... that is, if Miles learns how to use locktite and a torque wrench... otherwise they both might need a new bolt after track day :-)

I needed an M10 1.25 nut for the Ninja and found it at Autozone. Ace Hardware didn't have them nor did Home Depot or Lowes. Auto parts places carry metric stuff in small quanties.

This. It's not going to be far from where the bike failed. It's not like you rode home without it and then it just wouldn't start.

In fact it may be under the bike right now, if it fell off while trying to start it. Look on the ground and in the fairing.

Your right carl, i notice it about 50ft back....i didn't have any power just like i was in neutral. I walked my parking lot but found nothing. Truth is it probably came off wayyyy back there. The sprocket sets in grooves so i could have been running without a nut for a long time
