Anybody have the ability to change tires?
I need to swap tires between my Speed Four and Speed Triple and would rather not pay $100+ for it.
Anybody got the ability to change tires themselves?

Didn't miles just do that on his own?

That I did. I made my own bead breaker and all. It's rough work do I won't be doing it again until I get an actual tire changer(I did mine by hand). I'd be happy to help though

Yeah, I have 4 tires to change and balance. I'd rather use a machine than zip ties.

I ended up not using zip ties.

Re: Anybody have the ability to change tires?
I've been thinking about making a mount on my trailer for my tire changing machine. Its the cheap Harbor Freight machine but it works well, takes about 5 minutes to change a tire. Balancing usually takes 2-3 times longer. Anyone who wants to change tires is welcome to use my machine free of charge.

Shaun, can I schedule some time this week to do a tire swap? I'd really like to get the Q2s from my S4 on the S3 before the track this weekend. Any evening works for me.

I'm in New Jersey this week, I get home late thursday night. I'll be doing all my prep work on Friday so you can come over any time. Were you planning to trailer both bikes over or did you want to take the machine with you?

Plan was one in the back of the truck with stands, the other getting somebody to ride over.Shaun/RC30FAN wrote:I'm in New Jersey this week, I get home late thursday night. I'll have to decide, Friday may be pushing it a little close for me.

Re: Anybody have the ability to change tires?
Yes I did. I ended up taking the bikes to Monkey Wrench Cycles, they're a TWT vendor and after my experience there I highly recommend them. $150 for four tire changes on the bike, tying up two lifts since they had to be done at the same time.
Frank, the guy that runs the shop, is awesome. He lost the lower part of one leg in a bike crash and still rides with a prosthesis. He does a ton of work on sport bikes, so if you're on the east side of FTW he's worth checking out.
His shop is on Division just east of 820, on the north side of Lake Arlington. He's by far the closest shop to me and where I'll be getting all my work done that I can't do myself in the future.
