Grips !
Using my immense foresight I bought Motorcycle Grip Heaters to better comfort my motorcycling experience during the cooler weather days.
These are the cheap ones that cost $35, because I'm frugal at times.
A simple heating element that pretty much amounts to being wrapped around the bar and glued underneath the grip.
I took the bar end off, and my grip doesn't slide off. I think it's glued on.
Have you ever taken your grips off ? Are they supposed to be glued on? Am I going to need new grips too?

Re: Grips !
Grab a box knife and cut them off. I don't know what they use on motorcycles but on BMX we used hair spray. It was a lube to get the grips on and when it dried it held them on I can see grips coming off a motorcycle as being dangerous, I'm sure they use something.

Re: Grips !
Yeah, if you don't need to put the grip back on cutting it off is going to be the easiest. If you need to get it off so you can put it back on you can try pealing it off, starting fromt he inside roll it back onto itself and you might be able to get it off that way. I've also heard of people using air compressors to loosen up the grip, ie brake the glue, and then slide it off.

Re: Grips !
Basically what DS said.
If the grips will be thrown away, box cutter. Otherwise try compressed air.
Don't use WD-40. It'll work like hairspray, but then you've got WD-40 on the bars. Easy to get the new grips on, not so easy to keep them from rotating.

Re: Grips !
I use dish soap and a large paperclip.
Straigten the paper clip out to make a little crank handle, like this _|---------
Has to be a man clip, no plastic coated foofoo type paperclip.
Stick the rod part down into the handle between the bar and the grip and then "crank" the handle, it will roll around the bar breaking the grip lose, add soap as needed to keep the process going.
After you've gone all away around the bar, it slides right off, and washes up real easy.

Re: Grips !
I made a crank similar to what fixxer describes, only using a coat hanger.

Re: Grips !
I've used the same method fixxer described. To glue the new grips on, I used the method a la Bewst, using hair spray.
Works like a charm.
