If you want, you can also try posting it on DFW Motorcycles & Parts (Buy & Sell) Facebook Group.

I'm not gonna lie, there are a bunch of stupid people on there, like asking if you will finance with zero down and let them take the bike, that you will probably have to deal with, but there are serious buyers as well. It's a huge group, free, and will be a good place to advertise it where lots of people will see it.

I thought those were only stolen bikes?

I've *never* seen a bike for sale there that was anywhere near actual market value. Maybe they're all busted?

There are a lot of good deals that go up if you ignore the BS, I think most of the legit buyers and sellers are just quiet. As long as he has his BS filter turned on and ignores people it will reach a big audience.

Thanks. I'm thinking R3 or CBR500R. I really liked the look of the KTM RC390, but the thing knocked like it was about to give up the ghost while I was at idle in the parking lot trying to adjust the mirrors. Add in the vinal covered concrete seat and the overall clunky and unrefined manner, it's a no go, looks awesome though.
I would like the R3, it's so light and I know it will kick ass at the track, but I'm mostly a commuter, and it was 7000rpms at 70, the 250 was 7500rpms, and the 500 was only 5500 rpms, so I like the less frantic experience on the highway of the 500. I really haven't decided, and I only have room for one motorcyle in my garage. I'm going to need to make a decision pretty quick though, I like riding too much. My garage looks so strange with that empty space where the CBR was.

Selling a good condition 250 to go to a 300 isn't much of a gain for your efforts imo, 500 should have a much better street-able power band.

The 300 on the other hand would probably be track candy (if only ridesmart would allow inside passing!!! :-o )

If most of your riding is street, buy for the street.

You may also want to do a lap on an SV650 and a Triumph Street Triple. Both are excellent street bikes, loads of fun, and plenty trackable.

I bet those 2 would be fun, but I'm not a fan of naked bikes really. Plus aren't Triumphs known for not being very reliable/parts falling off? I know they have faired SV650s, so that is an option. I really like the gas mileage and low insurance of the sub 500cc cycles, I mostly commute, but I can check with my agent and do some research. I would like a GSXR750, I sat on one at the IMS I really liked, but that is really more power than I want or need, and then there goes my good mileage and low insurance.

I get very good insurance rates on the 750, and if you ride it like a normal person 45+ mpg is a reality. I stil say the two best "street bikes" that are full on super sports are GSXR 750 and 675 daytona.

On a very serious note triumphs are excellent bikes that run just as good as any other bike. The only real issue is the rectifiers and that issue has been fixed on the newer bikes. I'm knows in about to hear a bunch of shit, but that's exactly what it is

And any issues I had recently were rider inflicted, nothing to do with the make.

Don't sell yourself short on a bike with too small displacement, give serious consideration to the fact that it may be time to upgrade to the 500-650 range. I very much appreciate your cautious approach in your progression, and cudos to you for being patient. Still, there are plenty of good, solid, easily manageable bikes, new and used in that range, that will be easier on the insurance, gasoline, and provide plenty of thrills, and great commuting (damn, I ran out of commas; wait, here's another one).

Anyway, I'm excited for you. Good luck.
