I'm on the flags and radio for the 14th, in order to get credit for the Halloween track day where I will dress up in my MotoGP rider costume.

I was just planning on showing up early Saturday morning. I don't sleep well in a hot tent.

Depending on what is going on here (with my kids), I may show up to help you out for part of the morning to help you out.

That would be great to have someone who knows the ropes there to help, but I completely understand that kids come first.

Are you prepping your bike before you get to the track? It helps a lot if she is already taped and ready to go (headlights, mirrors, taillight, license plate, and if you have a light that lights up the license plate, tape that too).

My plan was to have the bike loaded on the trailer and ready to roll early Sat am. I had planed to arrive at Cresson at 6:00 am is that early enough? I will have my bike taped as you have described.

I know it is your first track day. Arriving at 6am would work, if you still need to prep the bike. If you have the bike prepped in advance, you will have plenty of time to sit around and wait. It does take time to fill out the paperwork (unless you print that out and have that all filled out and ready to go too) and to get the bike inspected, but otherwise, you just sit around and wait for them to do a track drive. You will want to do the track drive (they talk about where the line is at and any spots that you should avoid). After the track drive, they will call everyone inside for the morning meeting. After that, level 3 goes and rides while level 2 and level 1 sit in the classroom. The nerve wracking part of your first track day, is that you feel rushed the entire time. You go from the classroom to gearing up, to riding the track, to going back to the classroom. That is why having someone there for your first day, will help with that rushed feeling. You really don't need to rush.

If the bike is prepped before you arrive at the track on Saturday, then I would suggest no earlier than 7 am (and then, that is still a bit early). You definitely want to do the track drive at 8:30. SO be there no later than 8 am (IF THE BIKE IS TRACK PREPPED BEFORE YOU ARRIVE).

I will be showing up on Saturday morning pretty early but ready to ride when I get there.

Telomere has it right on the money as far as feeling rushed. It is overwhelming at first but if your bike is cool, that will take a lot of stress off. We will have sign in, tech, riders meeting, set your 'pit' up, track walk or drive, find a bathroom, say hello blah blah blah so time will slip by quickly. I will be stripping the bodywork to check every bolt, adjust cables, remove lights, change fluids, ect in the next days so i know the bike is good. full throttle to full brakes is not the time to find out your sprocket bolts need to be tightened or levers are not adjusted properly.

dont worry, after the initial bit of chaos, it gets super fun.

yell if you need a hand with anything.

Looking like I'm doing both days in Level 1. As it turns out with their current discount code combined with some $150 credit I had on my account, the weekend at the track is going to cost me $75 plus hotel riding both days. I'll be there Friday night to set up. My canopy will look like this included the orange buckets. I'll probably be there around 6PM Friday night and Saturday around 7AM. Disregard that truck...not mine. Mine is a white GMC Sierra 1500.

Anyone else notice how Telo's comments have gotten less helpful since she's being going to school? :)
