Let us pray for no rain, as my credit has been spent. I show 60% as of now, which of course isn't a guarantee of anything...

I just got an email fron RideSmart that said the rain wouldn't be that bad, but...
I'm committed anyway so it's a done deal. My GF and I are riding down today to my Parents lake house about 15min from the track. She'll be in the car with my leathers just in case I can't get away with my Teknic Nylon Mesh that has only a 25%' zipper attachment. I hope no one checks. My mom just sent a text talking about thunderstorms and hail, so an interesting experience will be had by all.

Cause I don't want my leathers in the rain getting soaked. My gloves got wet once and it took forever for them to unstiffen. At least I have a leather set that fully zip and the jacket is a used Teknic I got off CL for cheap. My Teknic suit is still like new. My Teknic mesh has the hump and aluminum elbow and shoulder sliders, so it looks the part, the mesh pants are hip, tailbone, knee (no sliders but who puts a knee down in the wet that isnt pro), and thigh padded. My Teknic mesh is Supervent Pro. The mesh has rain liners where the leather doesn't and cold+wet+pissed = distracted Matt with no business riding at speed. The way I'm looking at it now is the most expensive Hamburger of all time.

It is packed already. I'm slightly passed the classrooms next to a Spartan trailer with a black ninja 300 and a UHaul MC trailer.

All and all, not too bad. The worst was a wicked lowside in 7, Bike fubar, but rider mostly ok. A brief shower put down 6 riders at once in 3 different corners, the worst was Roundabout. Honestly I hope it lightings so I don't have ride and get my credit back.

Level one followed, as you know, after the track was cleared and it had mostly stopped raining. But I would absolutely not have believed how slick the track was at that moment. I was putting around, the bike almost upright, with an instructor right in front of me doing the same and I swear both the front and rear were all over! STG! It was like my brain could not believe all the unstable inputs from the bike. A little rain and the oil came to the surface! I agree if its going to rain let it flood! I have no interest in "rain riding" tomorrow!

Yeah, that brief shower that moved through during the 2nd to last level 2 session was a killer. It didn't even seem to be raining that bad, but it came up suddenly while they were out on the track and you've got bikes everywhere. But the rest of the day before that was really quite good.

Agree, the rest of the day was really good. No stifling heat or dehydration battle. Other than that late rain the track had great grip.

The WFAA radar shows Cresson with a good sized storm in progress. I'm going to drive down but I may not even unload. Chris I am in a Black Honda Ridgeline with a a red CBR.

I can't believe it's still on. I'm 15 min from the track at my parents lake house and it's thundering and lightning right now with steady rain, and has been all night. I'm not going out there. My helmet alone was $400 on sale.

I was riding to the track, so I am out. Flash flood watch, standing water everywhere, I will sit this one out. All dressed up with nowhere to go. Image

One thing I noticed different this time. Dave was cozying up to TXSR a lot. He gave them a minute to pitch their group at the driver's meeting. Dave even brought up their 15% discount for members and that there is a 50% discount for the ring leaders.

yea.. about that. My guess is that may be due to several of us TXSR leaders being not very happy with the latest arrangement, I'm not the only one that disclosed my displeasure with some of the politics that went down. I'm no longer a TXSR organizer let alone a lead anymore.

I was going to ask you about that. I noticed the TXSR site up there has had a bunch of rides setup by different folks and hadn't seen you post there in awhile. I did one bike night with them and one ride down here and I wasn't impressed with either event. I'm a member down here, but they gave me crap about the discount because I wasn't "active" enough for them. I sent him a decently long Email regarding my experience with them and got very little in return. In fact he confused the two groups and told me to try the Dallas TXSR again since Fixxer was "making it better". Just goes to show he didn't actually read my Email and the references to the fact I was in Austin.
