RideSmart Forum

Post by DarcShadow » Tue Mar 01, 2011 4:27 pm

Ride Smart has a forum up for the DFW area, MotoDFW.com. Members on MotoDFW.com get 15% discount for trackdays. Just maintaining a resonable level of activity on their forums, and submit a request for the discount in the discount thread. There's a post topic under the Ride Smart section some place about it.

I signed on once from home. It was pretty slow-moving, not a lot of membership or posts. I'd almost venture to say that these boards are more active. I'll stick to HPC...

It's a new board so you'd have to give it some time. Dave's goal was to create an open place for people to talk and setup rides and what not around the DFW area, trying to get away from the stunt world. It's going to be a hard sell in DFW, stunt mentality is too well imbedded.

I haven't been on them in a while, but it was slowly picking up activity. I agree with DS on the reason it's going to be tough to get going, but his main purpose was to give us in North Texas a local alternative to HPC.

i think it's based on how much you post and contribute to the forum.

Yeah, just mainting a resonable level of activity on their forums, and submit a request for the discount to one of the MODs. There's a post topic under the Ride Smart section some place about it.

I'm kind of a lurker over there. Most of the conversations are more technical then I care to get into, or there are so many post by the time I read it, it's hardly worth it for me to post anything as everything as already been covered. I try to contribute when it's useful though.

Or you could offer a weekend day to help them with corner work and get a "free" track day.

We've been through this! It's hard for me to commit to something so far out :( Plus with working 6days a week i don't want to be stuck out on the corner when i'd rather be at home on the couch nursing a hangover :)

Don't worry about committing yourself to corner work. They are all full this year, unless you are willing to pay me, Rhino or Striple a nominal fee to work one of ours :D

I'm sorry but you said nurse a hangover and I imagined a nursing dog!! I dont know where my damn brain is at at the moment but apparantly not where it should be!!

Yep, you gotta get registered early to get a spot.

On the upside, I don't care about the MotoDFW discount because I'm riding 8 track days for free this year.

So? I'm spending time that I'm not at my job, getting to sit and watch motorcycles all day, and lifting those oh-so-heavy flags. :D

It is actually quite invigorating watching the bikes zoom by you on the track, instead of watching from behind the fence! It is different thrill in its own.

I'm with Dave and Becky on this one. I enjoyed corner working a lot more than I thought I would, and its fun to watch riders from all skill levels tear it up. You can call it work if you want, but it certainly doesn't feel like a day at work.

Easy choice, corner waving a flag.

Those hot women don't pay for your track days, and if I want "taken care of" that happens easily enough after a corner day, 1 day, 2 goal achievements, pow, thats efficiency.
