Ride - Saturday, May 5, 9 AM

Post by dufremle » Fri May 04, 2018 8:36 am

I'm going to lead a ride tomorrow morning. This will basically be the same route I did last weekend down to Stephenville (Sorry Jeff :-D ). We will leave at 9 AM to make it to Hard 8 earlier so the line isn't as long. Hopefully. Check this thread before you leave in case the weather changes and I have to cancel. Stupid rain.

Meetup: Sonic on Clifford St. in White Settlement
Kick stands up: 9:00 AM
Get there early if you want food and/or coffee.
Ride Leader: dufremle

I am not going to categorize this ride. The pace will depend on who shows up and how well everyone does.

Please be dressed appropriately: helmet, jacket, gloves, over the ankle shoes and long pants.

I will see you in the AM. I do have stuff to get done this weekend so the early start is fine with me.

Coincidentally, a few of us with CR/CMA be heading down to that area for our "Run for the Son" ride tomorrow, and then lunch at Hard8. So we might run into each other around noon...if y'all are still there :)

If I can wake up in time I may bring the ape out - no pain no gain.

What's the story?
Last Sunday at Village Creek first lap of the third session in the beginner group I was just taking a left-hand turn(blind corner) and next thing I knew was my head slamming the ground followed by my back hitting the ground. I couldn't take a breath and thought for a long moment that I had collapsed my left lung. I was just exiting a corner and couldn't have been going that fast, but I STG that is the hardest hit I I have ever taken.

I owe a beer to the guy who stopped his bike diagonally behind me and kept other bikes from running me over and the other guys who loaded my bike for me.

Shortly after my 15min drive home the back spasms started and kept up every time I moved for 3 days. I went to CareNow for Xrays and Flexeril, nothing cracked or broken. Glad I was wearing a helmet and chest/back protector, or it probably would have been worse.
