I agree this would suck! What do you make of his saying the steering locked up on the motorcycle?

In the sense that the person steering the motorcycle locked up, I totally agree. You can clearly see many steering changes in the video preceeding his hillside adventure.

Man up, admit you came in hot, panicked, and lived to tell. Don't lead other newbies into thinking that this was the only and correct option out.

He says on the vid he was only going 45...his speedometer said 65...

yeah, but we all know speedometers are inaccurate. He wouldn't have been speeding. ha!

Classic case of target fixation. Locked onto the gravel pull off and that's where he went.

I will chime in

This was my playground for a lot of years before I moved to texas and I knew these roads well. Into and out of these turnouts, dirt gets kicked up and onto the road, rocks also fall down the mountainside and litter the road. we cannot tell from the video for sure, bit it looks almost like he gets a little bit of a slide going but he is not hard on the brakes so- I bet he got a little movement, panicked and decided to give dirt biking a try.

it sucks but it happens all the time up there.
