New guy here

Tell us a little about yourself and say hello to the gang. We would like to hear about who, what, and why you ride as well as how you found us.

New guy here

Post by cory86 » Wed Mar 30, 2022 9:49 am

Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone and hope to help out with this group, Havent seen many group riders lately and would like to join in. Been riding since 2004 with my first bike being a 1997 Suzuki TL1000s, I don't know what my father was thinking at that time, But did learn the limits with that bike! My interest for bikes began very young as I watched group riders go through out town and knew I wanted to be apart of one day.
It also took me to a trade school in Daytona Beach Florida where I attended AMI and completed but not get into any shop due to how hard it was to even to find a shop to hire me straight out of school sadly, So I had family in the pipeline industry and got into welding right away. I have been a Welding Forman for the past 5 years. Times are very slow as I have all the time to ride everyday and try to meet a new group to ride with.
Bikes that I've owned.
-1997 Suzuki TL1000s (Red)
-2005 Suzuki GSXR600 (Yellow)
-2006 Honda CBR1000RR (Black)
-2009 Honda CBR600RR (Phoenix Edition)
-2022 Yamaha YZFR1 (World GP 60th Anniversary Edition) Just purchased
I live in the Weatherford area and isn't a bad ride into FT. Worth
Hopefully there will be more rides coming up so I can join if I'm able to ride with members. Really love to meet everyone in the group as you all seem to have plenty of experience.

Most rides pass through that area to get to the better stuff, my bike is in the shop currently. Hoping to dust it off with the weather turning better.

Hopefully they get done with it soon. I live 20 miles south west of Weatherford and seems like I live right off the bike path lol. Little chilly today but I rode to Ft. Worth and back and the gusts of wind was blowing me all over the place but it was a nice ride.

It's a beamer so it won't be in there long, just yearly check up and maintenance. I don't do that crap anymore, I'll let someone else do it.

Welcome!

Hopefully we will get some rides posted soon. We have a Bike Night coming up on April 13 if you want to come out and meet some of us. We don't put on a ride, just hang out and talk. I'll post the details in the bike night forum when it gets closer.

How do you like the R1? I have a 2015 R1 and had a 2005 CBR1000RR prior to that.

Thank you!
Ok ill be there on the 13th unless something happens, Id like to meet everyone.

I love it so far, Newest bike Ive ever owned so all the settings that it has is insane and a learning curve but handles amazing. Doing as much riding as I can to get it broke in correctly but has plenty of power just being easy on it lol couldn't imagine opening it up in A mode lol.

I keep mine in B mode. It has plenty of power for the street. I'm a bit disappointed in the wheelie control. It tends to bounce the bike, causing the front wheel to get slightly higher every bounce. Other then that it is a great bike. Hope to see you at bike night.

trying to hold out as long as I can to to rip it open lol haven't gotten it over 7000 rpm yet its so tempting but trying to break it in the right way lol but its so hard to not to open up that throttle but I'm going to keep being patient.
