New guy from Irving

Post by 2FAST4U » Tue Feb 24, 2015 10:45 pm

I met some of you this past Saturday on the ride you guys had with the Texas SportBike Riders - DFW meetup.com group. I was the guy on the red Honda Interceptor.

Here's my bike at the entrance to the national museum for an awesome American sports car. They've got lots and lots of cool cars there.

Welcome! That VFR looks like my old VFR. They are great touring bikes. Have you traveled on it?

Group ride! I'm assuming that's Bowling Green.

Actually, my daughter lived in Lexington until recently. Drove right by the place, never stopped.

Last I heard they were talking about stabilizing the hole and leaving some of them there. The sink hole was a huge draw and they saw a significant increase in attendance at the museum.

Yes, the museum's in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The assembly plant where they're made is also there. Anyhow, when I was there, they had pulled about five Vettes out of the hole and had them out for everyone to see (I'm not sure why they did that because it wasn't a pretty site). I thought I heard somebody say they weren't sure if they could ever get the other three or so out because they were in so deep.

One of the pictures below is of the rarest Vette of all: a 1983. GM built only one Vette that year and kept it (the museum had it on loan from GM). It's not a very good picture, but that's it.

It was brought to my attention that GM built 43 1983 Vettes, but the one in the picture is simply the only one in existence.

These are the last ones I'm gonna post. I hope you guys liked them.
