Nice wheels! The Japanese rides are slowly becoming the minority here.

Too bad it's the slower color tho

LOL It's not the slower color, for us who have the Artic White Silk color ride slow so others can soak in the beauty that is our bikes.

Check out ridesmart.info for track days coming up at Texas World Speedway(TWSS), Motor Sports Ranch Cresson (MSRC), even Circuit of the America(COTA) and others lots of info on the site about time, place, bike prep etc. Your first track day with Ride Smart is 1/2 off, and free leather rental if you need leathers. This is a great forum for getting into track days, lots of very experienced track riders/racers that have solid advice here. Me, I'm a supper beginner!

Looks great! However it looks like there's a lot involved with setting up the motorcycle for the track. I'd be willing to try it out once though just to say I've done it.

It kind of looks that way, but it's not that involved. A quick tape job is all that is really necessary, although pulling parts(mirrors/turn signals) off is recommended, and usually pretty easily. First track days can be a bit overwhelming so when you do go, be sure to post up here and find out who all is going and where they are setting up so that you can have some people that'll lend a helping hand.

Some help with setting up for the track would definitely be awesome. I'll have to take a second look at the schedule and see when I would be able to make it. I did notice that the beginner slots were already sold out on the upcoming track days.

Yeah, they have been selling out pretty quick this year. RS is pretty much the only game in town these days.

I've signed up for the MSRC on Oct. 29. Got a 50% off discount for being a cherry (first time discount code for 10/29 MSRC "6.PR.RSWEB.50.10/29-30/2017"). Free leathers and free boot rental for first timers!! I chose Oct. 29 because I figured by that time the weather will be cooler. The other available dates for novice are in the hotter months. I'm not trying to ride in leathers in 90+ degree weather. That won't be fun. Anyone else wanna go?

A little far in advance for me to actually sign up but I'll probably be there. Probably be 3 or 4, maybe more if we actually decide to get organized. (it almost goes without saying that Tooner will be there)

Yes it does get quite hot in leathers in those temps, but between sessions we strip off the top of our suits and go sit in the air conditioned building during class. Drink lots of water and you are fine. If you feel yourself starting to lose concentration, pull off the track and sit in the shade. A track day in pretty much any weather beats any day at work... :D

Yeah, it's not nearly as bad as you would think it would be. But still, for your first ever day, not dealing with the heat is probably a good move.

50% was limited quantity and the novice spots have been filling up quick that's why I decided grab a spot in advance. I hope Tooner will be there and help me set up for the track.

I hope to be there too.! Maybe you can get a parade lap in at one of the events and a look around the track to familiarize yourself before your first day.

I think that is a great point. If you are concerned at all then showing up to one of the days before your first day isn't a bad idea. It isn't necessary at all, and I wouldn't recommend spending the whole day there spectating, but it could help put you at ease. See where check-in is, where tech inspection is, where the classrooms are (Hint: They are all pretty much in the same place), see how people have their bikes prepped, wander around and ask questions (everybody is friendly and nobody there has ever given me crap about asking stupid questions). Again, if you can't find time, and if the first time you see the place is at 6am the day of, you will still be fine.
