Introduction

Post by Striple » Tue Jun 01, 2010 1:56 pm

Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. I used to mess around with dirt bikes and small displacement dual sports ages ago, and recently got back into riding. I've since taken the ERC and will be taking Lee Parks' TCARC later this month. I currently ride a Triumph Speed Triple 1050, and plan on adding a second horse for the track soon.

I only moved to the DFW area a couple of years ago, so I'm still exploring the region for good riding routes. Among others, I've done FM4 around Palo Pinto a few times, which was a blast. Unfortunately, most of my riding co-workers prefer to cruise, so I'm really looking forward to meeting some like-minded individuals who embrace a more aggressive riding style.

I'll be at bike night on the 10th, and hope to meet a few of you guys there. Looking forward to riding with you guys!

Snip a spark plug wire here, a spark plug wire there, and pretty soon we can all be short one cylinder! :-)

Never heard of that class but looking at their web page it sounds interesting. What you need to do is take it, then do a track day and let us all know which one was a) more fun and b) more street riding skill improvement.

Personally I feel just knowing the basics of how to control a bike, and seat time are what you really need but there are always little tips and tricks that can be learned.

Welcome, there is a ride planned for Saturday, but with the weather looking to break 100 that ride my be getting cut a bit short.

Absolutely! Just need a few more months before I can add another horse to the stable, then you guys get to laugh at my corner lines on the track... :-)

Excellent, I should be able to make that one. With temps that high already, this is going to be one hot summer!

Aw, you don't need a second bike. We've seen everything at the track, Goldwings, cruisers, Ducati's and everything in between.

Welcome .... It will be nice to meet you at bikenight. As far as the extra bike for the track ... I will be taking my ZX-14 out there soon so I am sure your bike is just fine for it.
