New member/Rider!!
Hi all!! New rider and member here. My bike comes home in about a month so ive been looking to find a good site/group to ride with. From the posts ive seen everyone here seems like VERY good people. My wife and I are scheduled for the Safety class beginning of May. Ill be getting a 2010 Ninja 250R. Pretty easy laid back person. Cant wait to get out and start riding!!

welcome to the group. If you and your wife can make it, come on out to Bike Night tomorrow (thursday) and meet everyone. There is limited cager parking there, but PLENTY at Mongomery Plaza across the street.
Re: New member/Rider!!
We are going to try. we've got two small kiddos so we might not be able to make it. But were going to try. If we cant make this one we will definitely make sure to attend the next.

Thank you again for the warm welcome. The safety course for me and the wife in my opinion is mandatory. Were taking this new adventure VERY seriously. Now i just need to TRY and be patient and wait the month till i get my bike home with me.

Re: New member/Rider!!
Welcome.... As everyone already said this is a great group of people and for the most part responsible riders that just love to have fun (as safe as possilbe) on bikes. As for the kids ... I completely understand that it can be hard to get out with children (I have a litter myself). Hope you can make it out tonight.

Welcome to the boards. Look forward to meeting you. I'm assuming from the previous posts that this is your first bike. Feel free to ask any questions you may have, and don't be afraid to just ask for advice. This is an extremly knowledgable group, and we are always happy to pass on that knowledge and help.

Re: New member/Rider!!
Welcome to the boards:-) I know what you mean about being patient. I took the class last July after I bought my 250 and I wouldn't take her out on the roads until I passed the class and passed the DMV test too. I was just itching to take her out tho (at the same time afraid that I would have been pulled over or wreck without that endorsement). Is your wife going to coach you from the backseat (ride 2-up) or does she have her own ride?
Re: New member/Rider!!
She has even less experience than I do. She has only ridden on the back of a bike maybe 3 times. She is getting more excited about possibly getting a bike of her own. We do plan to do 2 up riding alot until she gets her own bike.
BTW is that your bike in your avatar?? Freaking badass man!

Re: New member/Rider!!
I don't have much experience either. I only have about 6K under my belt. My avatar is my bike. I love her!! I did wreck her on Halloween so my husband has made a few mods since then (two brothers exhaust, passenger pegs were removed).
That is awesome that she is excited enough to possibly get her own ride. I love being able to share my love of riding with my old man, whether 2 up or on our own. Once you two take your class and you want to ride, if you need anyone to go with, I am sure there are more than enough people here to go with you.
I am waiting for next moderate right. I have only ridden with the group on a 2 up and I loved it. I have just intimidated with my 250 and everyone elses either 600, 750 or 1liter bikes. I am lucky if my bike can hit 95. Good luck in the class and let us know when you are ready to take for a ride:-)

Hey, I usually bring my Versys on club rides, and it tops out at about 100, and it takes a loooooong time to get from 90 to 100.Telomere wrote:I am waiting for next moderate right. Re: New member/Rider!!
I am totally ready for a group ride now I am just waiting for one now AND I make Fixxer go with me on the weekends that there isn't a club ride. This weekend he will be cave diving all weekend so I won't be riding (with him anyways).Dave wrote:Hey, I usually bring my Versys on club rides, and it tops out at about 100, and it takes a loooooong time to get from 90 to 100.Telomere wrote:I am waiting for next moderate right.
