Coming to town

Post by GMan1125R » Tue Sep 13, 2011 5:52 pm

Hey guys,
I will be moving to Fort Worth in about a week and was looking for some fun roads to ride and maybe a track and found this site. I have a couple american made bikes, and have been riding for a total of about 6 years, but am still learning to lean. Ill try to make it to the next bike night after getting settled in to the new place. Hope to have both bikes there soon, going to be a different world for me without mountains. I will be living off of Bryant Irvin for a while, can anyone suggest some fun roads without too much interstate?

Saddly what we consider fun roads, and what you consider fun roads are going be drastically different. :( I lived off Bryant Irving for a few years, there are a couple of "interesting" roads not to far away but the "fun" roads will be a good 45 min ride to get to the. You can get to them on back roads though so you don't have to slab it the whole way. FM 51, and FM 4 are two of the better roads in the area that are easy to find.

Join us on a few rides and you'll quickly learn where the good stuff is, and occasionally, the really bad stuff. ha!

Welcome. You found the right group for all of that stuff. What kind of phone you have? Only reason I ask is I found an app for the Iphone where people post up good routes to ride all over the us. It uses your gps to tell you the closest ones and so far all the ones I have taken where good roads.

Welcome to the forums. From your name I gather you ride a Buell? Where are you moving from?
We have a few twisty roads around here, no mountains but the Hill Country isn't too far. We have two race tracks very close to us Motorsports Ranch Cresson and Eagles Canyon Raceway.

Look us up at bike night when you get into town, we'd be glad to show you some of our local roads.

Welcome and as long as you ride, it doesn't "really matter" what you ride :D Some of the guys do happen to find some fun roads but yeah, they are nothing like mountain roads!! You will learn to like what we have though because that is all we have :)

Welcome to the boards! Like was mentioned, there are a few roads a little bit away, and also from Bryant Irvin you can make your way over to FM 5 pretty easily which is a fun little road to go along with 51 and 4.

So El Presidente are we going to plan a Hill Coutry ride after GMan get's settled in?

I'm here, but unfortunately the battery on my Buell is completely dead and won't take a charge. I'll get a new one and try to make it to the next bike night. -G
