New guy

Post by nitzer » Sat Apr 21, 2012 5:45 pm

Hey, guys/gals. Just found the site and decided to say Hi. I'm 38 and just finished the motorcycle safety course a month ago. A week after finishing I got my license and bought a 2007 Ninja 250 to learn how to ride on...again. Had a license 20 years ago, but never rode. Just looking for some crazy (in the head - not on the road) kinda folks to ride with and get more seat time. I'm new to riding, Fort Worth and sorta new to TX so go easy... :) I've already put 250 miles on the bike in 3 weeks which is 50 more than the previous owner did all of last year. Been commuting on it to work on the back roads just to get the feel of riding again. I did see that some of you are riding tomorrow. Not sure I'm ready for that, but...you never know. First thing I did to it was remove all those red flames from it...

Glad to have you on the boards! No rush to get out and ride with the group, there will be plenty of rides and that will give you time to get comfortable with your bike. Check out bike nights in the mean time!!!

Hi - Nitz.
Take a deep breath and go.
My first year with the club I rode about 20k all year.
From past experiences an average ride will be about 200 miles. Sometimes less, sometimes more.

Typical rides are between 150-200 miles with stops every 50 to 70 miles for fuel and/or to stretch.
