Finally found a group!

Tell us a little about yourself and say hello to the gang. We would like to hear about who, what, and why you ride as well as how you found us.

Finally found a group!

Post by Marris » Thu Jun 21, 2012 7:21 am

Hello everyone!

I'm glad to finally find a group I can ride with! I have lived in the Fort Worth area for almost 19 years now and have had my bike for about 6-7 years. I never really found a group to ride with as all my friends had bikes and we would go out together but now, all of them have sold their bikes and I'm left with a fun toy that doesn't get used much.

My bike is an older one, but I still <3 her and she still performs well. She is a 1996 CBR 600 F3 with an after market wheelie-sprocket. Not much to look at but more fun than I know what to do with. I posted a picture below of my bike (No, she is not usually running around in street fighter mode. She was having battery issues at the time.):

Anyway, I'm really excited to be joining and hope to visit with you guys on the 28th!

Howdy, glad to have you on the boards and make sure you check out bike night next week!!!
Oh and our bike nights really arn't about riding, we do so much riding we hardly have time to socialize with each other. Bike nights gives us the chance to do so, but we do encourage you to ride your bike out as most will do.

Good looking bike. I loved the color schemes of the bikes from that 90's.

I was happy this one was in such great shape (And in my favorite colors!) when I found it. Although it had HORRIBLE stickers on the back. I really need to find that photo of when I first got it. I want to try and figure out how to alter the neon yellow F3 portion since I don't like how it clashes.

*Edit*
Found it! Haha! I forgot how bad it was:

Welcome. How do you keep your skirt down while riding? My kilt always flies up and I get sunburns in my "no" zone.

What would you be if you were attached to another object by an incline plane, wrapped helicly around an axis?

Ok, the checkers maybe a little much, but the neon F3 is part of the charm of the design, and realy it's pretty tame compaired to other bikes of that time. :) Shouldn't be hard to find another F3 decal though if you really want to replace it.

The high-viz thing is coming back around again, so I'd leave the F3 as-is.

I find using staples works well. :-) Honestly I remember seeing one girl do her stunts in a bikini and all I could think was, do you know how messed up you'd be if you fell?!?!

I hadn't really thought about the other decal but that would work amazingly well. Now I must go hunt down a decal to cover it with. Thank you for the idea!

I would be fine with the F3 if it was bright canary yellow or maybe gold but the neon green-yellow just ends me.

Welcome to the boards. Hopefully bike night next week is less exciting for me than last weeks (lost my keys on the way home somewhere).

I was wondering if any other bike riders would even know what that is. I have two level 85's (hunter and druid), one horde one alliance but everyone knows the horde are better. HAHA

I just checked where the group meet-up is and realized it's on the other side of Fort Worth from me so it is unlikely l will be riding my bike for that. I tend to avoid riding at night long distances by myself simply because people in cars are bat sh*t crazy and blind during that time and I am less visible laying on the street, too. =(
