That is because you live in Denton. BUT, I know how you feel about wanting to sleep in your own bed...that is why I don't camp out the night before. Some people do get hotel rooms...not me of course!

Nice bike 111. Let me know if you have any questions about trackdays - I'm a Ridesmart instructor and usually do around 10 track days a year, either teaching or for fun.

Awesome, thanks. Does most everyone camp out the night before? I would like to make it this weekend but I don't have a trailer yet and figure it would be a lot easier with a trailer.
Yes people do, most of use don't. Most people do leave their bike at the track if they are running both days. There is also a hotel nearby so if you want to show up Friday, get the bike preped and leave it at the track you can do that as well.

I might take the bike out there Saturday to drop it off... might not. Hard decision... I will still be driving out on Sunday so I guess it is a moot point.

I'm riding out Sunday morning as well. I live on the west side of Ft Worth, so it's like a 30 min or less sprint for me to Cresson. Since I'm riding this sunday, if you want to go out there then, you're more than welcome to crash at my place and we can ride out in the AM

Oh yeah, love that bike! Like was mentioned, that's a kick ass scheme!!!

I used to ride to and from track days, and it really wasn't too bad. Since you're in Arlington, MSR Cresson is only about 45 mins away (Eagles Canyon is about 1.25 hours away), which is certainly doable. If you decide to do this long term, you can always invest in a trailer and dedicated track bike.

I recommend investing in a full-size pickup. It has utility outside of bike hauling.

Honestly I'm so glad I bought my F150. It has been super useful. And it's nice being able to haul a bike to the track effortlessly, i.e. not worrying about towing anything.

It's also a lot easier to haul the shovels, dead hookers, and the lye to bury them with in the same load.

Even a small truck will typically get the job done. As long as I have a bike I will always have a truck.

Indeed. I wonder sometimes whether I made the right choice with a F150, usually when I'm filling it up.

Still, it's nice being able to just close the tailgate with a sport bike in the back.

No argument on the fuel prices. My Silverado gives me the same distance on 22 gallons as my Hyundai does on 9.

I'm gonna drive my Accord until the wheels fall off (which I expect to happen sometime next year), at which point I may consider a truck. We've got the SUV to tow the trailer, and I'm not looking forward to the piss-poor gas mileage of a big truck. I actually prefer the smaller trucks, especially the older Tacomas.

I usually average around 18 to 20 mpg in my truck. My old one got slightly better but it was only a 4 banger and didn't like going up hills with a bike in the back.

If I had the cash I'd trade my F150 in on a new F150. They get 20+ mpg.

I'd really like a diesel small truck, I'd even entertain the idea of a hybrid or electric small truck if they sold such things here in the states.

My V8 4.8 liter can get about 24 on the highway if I'm not jacking around, its not what you drive its how you drive it. I get about 400 to 500 out of my 26 gallon tank if I'm taking it easy.

My 5.3L '07 Silverado 1500 gets around 16 on the highway. More like 14 around town and it has the 8 cylinder to 4 cylinder cut out mode.

My 2001 Tacoma Prerunner averages 16 MPG. It has a K&N air intake system on it. I think that has lowered my mpg. It makes a great sucking sound when I get on it, though. :D
