Hi from Parker County
Hi fellow riders. I just thought I'd drop in and say hi.
I just got a Multistrada 1200S and I wouldn't mind riding with some other people on occasions. I love the club's philosophy and attitude, it feels exactly like what I'm looking for. I'm 35 with two small kids at home, I'm definitely not a squid!

Re: Hi from Parker County
I just picked her up last week so I haven't had a chance to take some decent shots yet. Hopefully this weekend. This is after the brutal 2 hour drive back from Dallas in rush hour traffic just after I got her. Definitely not my idea of a fun ride. You can see my last ride in my messy garage in the background, 2007 Suzuki Boulevard M50, a motorcycle choice I regretted for the last 5 years. But hey, it had 2 wheels and the wife approved it after a 8 year hiatus from bikes! Before the Suzuki cruiser I had a 1997 YZF-600 in college and before that a 1992 Yamaha Seca-II (FJ600) as my first "big boy" bike. I rode a Yamaha RD80 while in high school and a 50cc scooter before that.
I really wanted to like the Super Teneree (I'm a Yamaha guy as you can see) but the MTS1200 won me over after a test ride and there was no going back.

Angry bird!
I love that bike. Never ridden one, but it's like Ducati took everything I love about my Versys and made it even better, at 4x the price.

Welcome. I considered an M50 before buying my 250 Ninja. What was wrong with the Suzuki M50?GregTR wrote:I just picked her up last week so I haven't had a chance to take some decent shots yet. Welcome to the boards. Don't mind miles and his obsession with pictures of bikes. His threw a fit and broke down because he doesn't give her enough love and attention SO he needs to drool over other peoples bikes

Re: Hi from Parker County
Back in 2007 when I bought it I was a volunteer firefighter and all the other guys rode cruisers so it was a peer pressure thing to get a cruiser. I tried to buy the "least cruiser" by going with the M50 but truth be told it was still a cruiser. Having ridden sport and standard bikes all my life it just didn't feel right. I mainly used it for occasional commuting to work for the past 5 years (put a whopping 3,600 miles on it!) and I just didn't feel very comfortable riding it on the highway at 70+ mph so I actually quite often took the service road or the country road to my office so I could "cruise" and do 45-50mph which is where he M50 feels comfortable. It's a great, reliable and easy to work on bike but I just never had the emotional attachment to it that I get with sport/adventure tourers. Obviously this is just my opinion but since you asked...nitzerebbhead wrote:Welcome. I considered an M50 before buying my 250 Ninja. What was wrong with the Suzuki M50?

Well thank you! It was a lot of fun to ride with a group. I opened her up a bit on the way home and may or may not have ridden a "bit" faster than the speed limit.

Triumph? No. The Multistrada is an upgrade for the Versys.Telomere wrote:Jealous? Going to trade in the triumph for a Duc now?Rhino wrote:Good riding with you today. That Ducati really is a thing of beauty.
