Hello!!

Post by machino » Sat Mar 02, 2013 3:46 pm

nice site, glad i found you guys. my name is Dean, moved here from alaska about 6 years ago. was there pretty much my whole life. had a couple of older cbr 600's while i was there. after drooling on the internet for several years went ahead and picked up a 1000rr. it's a 2012 with the white/blue/red color scheme. been looking around for motorcycle groups and events in the area and stumbled onto this website. i like the family orientation and structure you have set up. i have similar experiences only with a different interest. was checking out some of your events and whatnot, and i've actually been to that fox and hound's place with some friends from work. but yeah so, just wanted to say whatup, introduce myself a bit and say i'm looking forward to meeting you guys. sounds like lots of fun.

thanks, i came here for lots of reasons actually. here's a few hehe....

1. i hate the cold and couldn't stand the ice and snow any longer! (however it's been pretty damn cold here lately, at least there's no snow)
2. cost of living here is a lot cheaper.
3. new houses cost 1/3 of what they do in alaska.
4. warm weather!!
5. more unmarried women to unmarried men ratio.

the humidity here was kind of annoying at first but i've kinda got used to it. wasn't expecting that. alaska does have really crisp clean fresh air, and the freshest cold water straight out of the tap.

ok so here's a pic of my bike i just took with my cell phone, not the best quality of course. did a few things to it since i've had it. put a zero gravity corsa windscreen on it, some jpr clutch and brake levers, some tech spec tank grip pads... found a pretty cool tail bag too.

oh but the coolest mod.... the american flag under the cbr sticker hehe!

That is a nice bike (darcshadow also does custom vinyls/stickers). Have you ridden much around here (back TX country twisties)?

thanks! actually i haven't done much riding around here at all. i pretty much have only been riding it to work and back. still breaking it in so trying to take it easy and keep the trips short. looking forward to getting out for more enjoyable rides for sure.

Next week (weather permitting) we should have our monthly club ride. We try to have at least one ride a month but as the weather gets nicer, more rides are likely to be posted up. If you are able to join us for a ride, we can show you some "nice" back roads.

Weclome! If youre lookin for dryer weather, you shoulda atopped in the panhandle instead ofthe metroplex. Only downfall to that is the roads are flat , straight, and long and there iant hardly any trees out there.
