So I know the riding season is just starting, but is anyone interested in running Barber some time this year and if so, would you also be interested in hitting The Dragon before or after the track day?

Wish I could this year, but I've got two vacations lined up already. Don't think my wallet will be recovered enough.

For anybody on the fence, GO! Barber is the best track I've ever ridden. Period.

WAAAAAAY better than COTA.

I would be interested but the dates would be limited for me. Cant promise I could be off in August. Now Late May I could do something if we planned it right. After that I will be in a new quarter for work and might not have the same days off ... will have to see. How many days do you usually go for?

Leave Friday morning, drive to barber do the track weekend, then head to the dragon and ride there till Thursday then head back. Traffic on the dragon starts to pick up Thursday and Fridays are usually not much fun.

Option 2 which we did last year, Leave Sunday, rider the dragon Mon-Thur, head to Barber Friday, do the track weekend, then head home Monday morning. At least that was the plan, since Homer and I both crashed out Saturday we head home Sunday.

The Aug. time frame was dictated by 2 things, first, it's when RS when to Barber, second, it's when Brian from The Airbenders goes. If we get enough people together that want to go earlier I'm open to it. Ideally we'd want 4 or 5 people to split the cost of the house we always get. There are 3 houses ranging from $230 to $270 a night. The $230 house has the largest garage and the $270 has the nicest house.

I will have to have firm dates before I can say for sure. If I have the post I will have next quarter during that time I will be off for the weekend already so barber would be almost a sure thing. The question is if I could do the dragon after. Ill know alot more after having dates.

Looks like Sport Bike Track Time has at least one event every month at Barber so what ever month works for the most people we can make happen.

Ah come one. You can always zip tie an LED flashlight to the front of it, like Brian's buddy did, at the dragon a couple of years ago.

I'd need tail lights as well, and don't really like riding on the street with no mirrors.

Some guys from MotoDFW are talking about going to Barber Sept. 5th and 6th and I think those are going to be the best dates for me to try and make it as well. I have a time share near Tyler that I can stay at free Thursday night so I'll most likely leave Thursday night, stop at the time share then drive the rest Friday. Done this in the past and it works out really well. You avoid the rush hour traffic around Dallas and don't have to get up crazy early Friday to make it to Barber at a reasonable time.

Keep me informed on this. I've got something in the works right now, and I may not make the track day but may be coming through that area, and can hang out at the track with ya.

First 2 weeks of September not the best time. Other things scheduled. Maybe difficult to make it happen.

Sportbike Track Time

They do have a couple of additional bike/safety requirements compared to RS, but nothing crazy.

I'm interested as well. I'm not the biggest fan of STT, but I've heard they've improved since I last interacted with them.
