offroading 3-24

Targeting 3-24 to head up to red river, most likely will take the KX for the first run at it, need to start practicing for the Utah trip.

Not sure I'll have that bike ready, may end up on the KX. Between shipping issues and me losing parts getting the KLR together is going slow.

Ok I just had to take it easy to not go down on my left side.

45 to 55 seconds in, and I go down on my left side.

Rick, I think the only thing you missed when you went down on your left side was me watching you go down and then I was in the sand just like that. Memo to me, I have little to no skills for sand riding. Next time I'm at RRT I plan on spending more time riding on the sand and I will probably spend time in the sand as well. I had a total blast, dang that was fun. Thanks for planing Rick

Second, Mike, I was privileged to see "magic mike" save it twice when I was thinking Oh Fu&%!!! But you pulled it back from the jaws of hell denying tragedy her prize! Especially that second one, like a Bull rider refusing to be thrown. No one can think that fast, that was the skill that comes with experience and the control of survival reactions. I am totally up for that Nocoma run you mentioned!

For the record, I really appreciate the consistent focus on safety equipment that I have found in this group from day 1!

It was a blast..except having to keep putting the chain back on from hopping the tiny ant mounts! I was going fast enough to "jump" one of those ant mounds (then the chain popped off). LOL!

My clutch hand hurt yesterday but today, just my ass hurts (it could be from working legs the night before). Pulling the clutch in to change gears on that 80 is brutal. The KX's clutch was not as hard to pull in as that 80.

Sand is not fun when you go slow or when you try to go up a hill in knee high sand (the 80 stalled going uphill).

I know my son wants to get his 50 fixed so he can go and I want to go back. Maybe we can plan for another weekend before it gets too dang hot.
Chance favors the prepared mind.

I was pretty ill-prepared for this run but it worked out, when cool weather season comes back around I'll be better prepared and hopefully we can coordinate a bit better, I'll bring a grill out etc.
