new twenty questions game

Post by shilka99 » Wed May 30, 2012 9:27 pm

I thought of a new game tonight. Sportbike Twenty Questions.

Rules:
the bike in question must be a sportbike from the modern era, i.e. something released after the original GSX-R750. It must be mass-produced. I think a Bimota would qualify, but a Mondial would not. An NS400R would be eligible but a TZ750 would not.

I think it would be best if the 'asker' provide a specification of some sort each time a wrong guess is made. For example;
"is it an FZR600?"
"it has a bore of 56mm"

I have an idea for a fun one to start with.

Which motorcycle was released as a race-replica with 1 valve per cylinder?

Hmm, something like that, is rotary, or steam, gotta be some german type thing....

Does this motorcycle contain a rotary or "Wankle" style engine?

Remember this is only mass produced, modern sportbikes released or still in production after the original GSX-R750 was released.

I guess a wankel has 1 valve per rotor - the rotor itself, but the bike I have in mind has 4 cylinders.

No, its Japanese.

I think I need to redefine the original specification. After looking at some cutaways, Fixxers point of a Wankel rotor acting as a valve reminded me that this engine has 2 valves per cylinder. Both are aluminum.

WINNER!

2-stroke, twin crank, square four with a disc valve behind each sideways mounted carburettor.

Ok, going the opposite direction, this bike is a sport-tourer with 16 valves.
