So yesterday i bought....valve tire release tool, 2 x 4, door hinge, several packages of super huge monster zip ties and a 32oz monster DUB edition(only $1.50, tasted like crap). So with the 2x4 i cutting it to make my own bead breaker. I'm using the zip ties to change my own tires without any tools. I will report back on how this worked out

I'm curious how you plan to get a tire off a rim using only zip ties.

Somone posted a video of this once. You break the bead. Zip tie around the tire itself, compressing it, and then the zip ties work as shoe-horns as well. Kinda like this....

:) No tools required once the bead is broke :)) sckego actually posted a thread on this with pics, but here is the youtube video

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

also he has the video of him taking it off and putting it on. pretty interesting stuff and i've read you can even use straps. I'll let y'all know how it goes. Breaking the bead should be the hard part

Lets see last night, I bought some blue locktight, new mechnics gloves (old ones starting to get holes in the fingers), a 27mm impact socket, and a couple of magnetic LED lights.

A) that looked like a hell of lot of work to get the tire off
B) putting it on doesn't look that easy either
Seems to me a set of tire irons would make that whole process alot easier. And if you're not wanting to save your tire, a good pair of cutters would make taking the tire off much easier. :)

Give us a full report though once you get done. :)

Are you kidding me! less than two minutes to take a tire off and less than two minutes to put it on once zip ties are applied! Way easier than using spoon tools and you don't have to take the chance of scratching the rim!

Just sick of my speedometer being so far off, on a moderate it's a pita to look at my speedometer then look at my GPS to see how fast I'm actually going.

Long term I'll probably go -1 and GPshift but not anytime soon.
