I started to suggest a 2014 Odometer Challenge this morning...with a twist. Set a deadline date in the next week or two where participants have to send in how many miles they guestimate they would ride in 2014, everyone puts $5 in the pot, and rider closest to that mileage at the end of the year has some extra after-Christmas sales cash. Maybe the closest by percentage points of total miles ridden, to make it fair.

The challenge is to see who rides the MOST in a years time (January 1st to December 31st). Not to see who can guess closest to how much they'll ride.

Yes, I wasn't suggesting replacing it, I was just suggesting a second one for fun. Thanks.

Too easy to game. Just stop riding when you hit the number.

Hell, I've got a truck, I could hit my number to the 10th of a mile. Just pull over and tow it home.

Good points, I knew there were some issues. But hey, if you pull that crap, you should lose your man-card, bike-card, and you get earn a hey-candyass-card. You know everyone better than I, just figuring there wasn't anyone who would sacrifice riding for a few bucks. Bad idea, I retract. :-?

Yes, I just figured that would manifest itself through a icepick in the tire, sugar in a gas tank, stealing a license plate, hiding a bike...harmless stuff. Cheating is a whole different matter...it's just...we'll, it's just dishonest. :-D

I had someone hide my bike once. Found it and got on it and realized I didn't have my keys with me. Got off of it and promptly fell over with the bike. Apparently kick stands are a must.

One of these days we're going to get mean at bike night and swap all the distinguishing characteristics between Miles' bike and Will's.

That's going to be funny as hell.

That would be pretty funny. Oddly I have a feeling I would know as soon as I start off down the rd.

How do you plan to start Will's bike with your key?

I assumed if you went through the trouble of replacing seat, mirrors exhaust, bar ends, levers, windshield, tires, etc....etc... You would have somehow gotten my key and switched it to
