A wheelie is a wheelie, no matter big or small. :wheelie:

We did spend some time in Oklahoma, maybe Polo ran over an IED. I hear there are some planted by TXDOT just before the bridge on the dark side to try to keep the Okies in Okieland.

The crazy thing is nothing went thru the radiator. I'm curious to see what failed as well. I don't understand why an engine failed with less than 21k on the clock. I don't think I beat it or anything and its never been raced or stunted as far as I know.

SO...to heck with a tech or maintenance day, sounds like it's time for a teardown day.

It's amazing how quickly those little parts lose momentum. When my 900rr blew, I found the small end of the connecting rod in the street. It didn't punch through the radiator. I made it into a key chain.

You know, there were a lot of rednecks around that day, one of them likely has a Barrett .50 cal...

I'd have sworn I heard shots in the distance after Polo's breakdown. Then I decided it was the galvanized guard rail popping in the sun. So I may have been in denial as to the exact origin, because a 50 cal is starting to make more sense. And let's face it, those weren't just rednecks, those were Okie rednecks.

6' plastic folding table is perfect. I've got a couple that I use for this sort of thing.

And a one gallon zip-lock for the parts that are left over once you're done putting it back together. :)

Probably containers from one of the dollar stores, or all joking aside, sandwich bags for the smaller stuff, you can write on either with a permanent marker so you know what's what.

If you want to be systematic, lay out tables (or just a big hunk of garage floor) and put down cardboard or butcher paper, something you can write on. As you take parts off, put them down on the table going left to right or whatever, and LABEL the parts.

Then when you re-assemble, you work right to left. That way you know you're not missing anything.

or just do like i do and put them on the floor of the garage in different places. Then accidently kick them around a bit. Then go to home depot to replace the parts missing and at the end of the year gather extra parts and put in a parts jar :) true story

Kawasaki's are known for weak engine parts. You also bought the bike used, so you have no idea how it was treated. It may have been run low on oil for a while and finally let go.
