Polokid's ZZR

Post by Polokid69 » Tue Jun 30, 2015 5:02 pm

I had a member who wishes to remain anonymous, donate $100 toward fixing my ZZR. I started a gofundme site just in case anyone wants to help. This is entirely voluntary and if you want to remain anonymous, thats fine with me also. No pressure and I understand if people choose not to donate. I figure it's worth a try. Thanks for everyones' nice words and support.

WOW, are you sure one of those cows didn't hit you with an RPG? I bet it was the fire ants. I think they had it in for everyone all along. ;) Thanks for letting us know about your gofundme! Like Firewa11 offered, I also freely offer my time to help you get your baby back up and running.

Sounds like Polo should also host a tech day. I'll be glad to come and help out with getting it fixed as well, just no more ants please!!!

Take Stoney up on his offer, he's great at fetching whatever you need from the parts store. :-)

Yup, I even know now exactly where the JB Weld QuickSet is located in Orielly's, and from the size of the hole in your engine, you are gonna need LOTS of it!

I'm guessing it was the #3 cylinder piston rod that tried to break free! Just unscrew it from the crankshaft, set it free, JB weld the engine block back together minus 1 cylinder, rebadge the bike as a triumph, and have your very own triple!

I prefer to think of it as "progressive and localized structural damage that occurs when a material is subjected to cyclic loading. The nominal maximum stress values that cause such damage may be much less than the strength of the material typically quoted as the ultimate tensile stress limit, or the yield stress limit, brought about by prodigious front orbital sphere lofting and touch down." :HeadScratch:

Since you ride a Suzuki and will not be subjected to said cyclic loading, I'll break it down to layman's terms...too many f'ing wheelies! :-)

Were they real wheelies or just Jim sized wheelies?

I'm curious now to tear it down to see what failed. It sounds like you snapped a connecting rod, but why? I've always been drawn to mechanical failure. Like a demented gearhead CSI.
