I had it done a long time ago in Va. I used a place called Lasic Plus but that has been ......10-15 years ago. I think just about any place would be good. The surgery is done mainly by computers and such these days. I know when I did mine it included a rebuff if ever needed.... but I haven't needed it yet. I have been very happy with it.

Same here, had mine done back in '01 in PA. Got a life time warranty too, if ever need a touch up I can go back. Sorry, don't know anything about anyone around here.

They cant drug ya other than eye drops because you have to keep your eye on the little red light. I had 0 pain with it though.... didn't feel a thing.

Don't think it's the pain he's worried about, just the nerves about someone messing with his eyes.

I just talked to them about my astigmatism and they said it might be possible. I would have to do a consult to find out.

Not sure if this is still needed info or not, but I have astigmatism and had it done last may.. In the pre-screening they detected some irregularities on one of my cornea so they opted for prk instead of lasik... The laser work is the same but instead of folding a flap of your lens over then replacing it they completely remove the lense and apply a contact lens to protect the eye while it regrows.

Longevity wise it's better and it's better for people who deal with pressure changes.. Skydiving, diving, etc.
The disadvantage is that instead of a few days to heal it can be a few weeks

That just sounds like it hurts. I was hoping to get the one where they don't have to cut anything.

Technically, they didn't cut anything with mine... They put some medicine that softens the lens, then they scrape it off...

The fun part is when the laser starts up, you can smell the tissue burning in your eye

You realize even the no cut surgery still removes a flap that then either has to be repositioned back on, or thrown away and wait for a new flap to grow over. And the smell from the laser is going to be there no matter what option you go with.

It's not so bad... A couple months ago one of my twins was throwing a fit and when I picked her up she scratched one of my eyes... Essentially removing the lens in a far more crude manner than the surgery did... My doc went in and removed the jagged remains and put on a contact lens and a few days later I was back to normal. It hurt that time...

When I actually had the surgery though, didn't feel a thing.
