BMW building bigger boxer

Post by JeffStrom » Fri May 24, 2019 7:54 pm

BMW is apparently building a flat twin engine with a displacement of nearly 1800 cc. The concept is designated the R18. It seems as though, for now it is being used in cruiser concept bikes made by custom builders. An article suggests BMW may have a cruiser up their sleeves.

Sounds like it might be wider than the GS engine. That's pretty wide.

I was thinking about that. I'm guessing it isn't designed for off-road use. It's probably a lot heavier, too.

even if it wasn't might be too much, the GS I have is less powerful than the new one and it's still retarded on the low end torque
